Galaxy Note 9 overview

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 phone comes in Metallic Copper, Lavender Purple, Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, Pure White, and Alpine White colors. It weighs 201g and has 161.9 x 76.4 x 8.8 mm dimensions. It was announced on the 9th of August 2018 and released to the market on 24th August 2018. It comes in two storage options of 6/128 Gb and 8/512 GB with a 400mAh battery. The mobile is 4G enabled.

SUPER AMOLED DISPLAY

The 6.4 inches screen display offered by the super AMOLED screen is much wider compared to the 6.3 inches in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. This gives a wider view which even allows you to split the screen and multi-task two apps. However, the phones have the same resolution of 1440 x2960 pixels with 18.5:9 ratios.

This gives you maximum brightness when working on your phone thus much swift to operate and carry out tasks. The corning gorilla glass offers added protection to the display screen. The photos taken as well will be viewed more clearly at this great display allowing you to edit even the minor details that seem to be of bothering to you.

Performance

The operating system in the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is an upgrade from the one in Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Android 7.1.1. In this mobile is Android 8.1 (Oreo), upgradable to Android 10, One UI 2.5. The OS has Google Play which enables the user to access other apps optimized by the developers. It also has flexible targeting options that enable you to distribute apps to normal through Google Play.it has also improved memory usage ensuring apps can run efficiently in devices of 1 GB Ram or less.

The mobile has an Exynos 9810(10nm) chipset with an Octa-core CPU running at 4×2.7 GHz Mongoose M3 and 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55. The processor is so powerful and this is boosted by the large RAM of 6GB or 8GB that comes along with it. It allows apps to run fast and effectively despite others being open.

If it is about gaming then you made an excellent decision selecting this phone with a large display. The RAM allows you to download games, store them and run them without overworking the phone and causing lags. The 4 LTE network band ensures you can play games online fluently without getting disconnected from time to time.

The phone has three functional sensors to unlock phone. The iris scanner, face scanner, and fingerprint scanner. This gives you different options to access your phone as it unlocks depending on the body part it senses first. The phone comes with an S pen which will simplify most of your tasks for instance taking notes as well as taking selfies. The phone has Mali-G72 MP18 for you to be able to experience and explore graphic options on your phone.

4G Connectivity

You can work conveniently at any place Wi-Fi enabled you don’t have to purchase mobile data from your sim card.

The phone also connects to Bluetooth with 5.0, A2DP, LE, aptX features. If you want to listen to music using your home soundbars then you need not worry due to the lack of a jack pin. Just open your phone’s Bluetooth and connect it to the sound bar. The phone also connects well to audio output devices connected through the 3.5mm jack producing 32-bit/384kHz audio, a feature that lacks in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. This however does not mean the phone lacks speakers. It has a stereo speaker that is quite effective.

Despite having an accelerometer, proximity, and compass sensors the phone comes with a GPS giving you the exact location you are in and the direction you are headed. It also has a barometer, heart rate, and unlock sensors.

For close-range devices, this mobile connects to them fast and with much ease through the help of the NFC available in the mobile. In terms of connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 shows only a difference in the lack of FM radio available in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.

Camera

The phone comes with two rear cameras like those of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 12 MP, 26mm (wide) of dual pixel PDAF, OIS, and 12 MP,52mm (telephoto) with OIS, 2x optical zoom. The cameras are enabled with continuous shooting mode and HDR mode to assure you of better images. Other features include LED Flash and Panorama enabling the cameras to produce images of 4000 x 3000 pixels.

The cameras can recognize objects and scenes of interest to you and adjust them to settings that match them best. This makes it easier and better for you to take pictures of any background and get the quality you desire. The cameras record quality videos at 4K@60fps (no OIS/EIS), 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps, 720p@960fps, and stereo sound with the aid of HDR, gyro-EIS & OIS.

The front camera of 8 MP is 25mm(wide) while the other is 2 MP dedicated to the iris scanner. The front cameras can be remotely controlled through the S pen. Meaning you can use the S pen to take shots through the front cameras. You do not have to hold the phone while taking selfies, just place it somewhere and use the S pen to control the phone. Videos taken with these cameras bear 1440p at a 30pfs rate. Dual video calls, auto-HDR features boost these front cameras.

Battery

If you compare it to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 this phone has outdone it in terms of battery. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 comes with a battery of 3500mAh while the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has 4000mAh. In terms of battery, it surpasses Samsung Galaxy Note 8 which has 3300mAh. It is fast-charging at a 15W rate and the phone comes with its charger packed in the box.
