Microsoft Xbox One X

Xbox One X brands itself as the fastest gaming console ever and true to its tag, it can provide you with unforgettable gaming experience. DESIGN

Despite its immense power, the One X is the slimmest console to date. It appears similar to the One S except that it has an entirely matte black casing and appears to be slimmer. It is also dense while weighing 8.4 pounds but feels heavier than expected due to its new hardware. Microsoft has toned back on this model and gone for a laid back design.

The front has a slot-loading a 4K Blu-ray drive, a single USB port, a physical power button, and a controller pairing button. The HDMI ports are located at the back as well as two USB ports and connections for IR out, gigabit Ethernet, and optical audio. The console is nice and compact while having 11.89.4 in terms of dimension.

HARDWARE

Just as its predecessors (Xbox One and Xbox One S), the new console continues the tradition of having several ports. Apart from the power port, Xbox One X offers three USB 3.0, Ethernet jack, IR out, S/PDIF, and HDMI-in and out ports. Just as in Xbox One S, the game console also requires an adapter. It also has an IR blaster for communicating with other devices such as sound systems and Television. A bonus to the Xbox One X is that it features a 4K Blu-ray player that makes it efficient for users.

PERFORMANCE AND GRAPHICS

The Xbox One X is incredibly powerful as it comes with a new custom 8-core CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz which is a 76% increase from the Xbox One and Xbox One S. It also has an improved new customed GPU clocking 1.17 GHz. The GPU has features from AMD’s Polaris architecture and provides 6 teraflops of computing power which outclasses the Xbox One S that had 1.4 teraflops. The powerful CPU and GPU enable the console to run games at a super speed of 600 frames per second at 4K with AMD FreeSync and High dynamic range thus making the images appear stunning.

CONTROLLER

The Xbox One x controller has not majorly deviated from that of the Xbox One S. It looks like an evolution of the previous editions rather than a re-done piece. It has some revisions around the seams, an improved bumper performance, and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. The buttons on the controller now include matte finishes while the triggers have been added tactile dots for easier gripping. The major change with the controller is the new D-pad which acts as a hybrid between the rounded diagonal pad and four-directional pad.

It has been designed to provide comfortability to users and to promote responsive play. The enhanced features that come with the new controllers are USB-C Port for charging and playing at the same time, dynamic latency Input to minimize delays, Bluetooth low technology, wireless radio standard for working with both Android and iOS phones, and the Snap function which acts as a share button.

STORAGE

Xbox One X has 12GB of GDDR5 RAM and a 1TB hard drive that comes as a standard and is sufficient for its 4K(38402160) gameplay that comes at 60 frames per second.
